Hi! I am Nathalie, professional translator since 2011 and creator of N·F·C linguistic services.
I translate from English and French into Spanish, my mother tongue. I have broad experience in the publishing sector, specifically in the field of specialised veterinary publishing. For almost five years, I held multiple positions as an editor, translator, reviser, proofreader, and coordinator of translation projects in a publishing house entirely dedicated to the animal health.
At the beginning of 2018 I decided to reorient my professional career and founded N·F·C linguistic services to embark on a new journey as a freelancer.
In addition to my degree in translation and interpreting, I am a qualified veterinary surgeon, so my main field of expertise is in animal health. However, I have experience translating in a broad range of other domains, including human medicine, cosmetics, marketing, building materials, the agri-food industry, environmental sciences, and sustainable tourism.
Thanks to my years of experience in the publishing sector, I have developed a broad network of collaborators specialising in areas complementary to mine. These include translators working in other language combinations, sworn translators, graphic designers and DTP specialists, publicists, subtitlers, copywriters, medical illustrators, interpreters, etc.
I strongly believe that unity is strength, and that surrounding yourself with the best team is the key to success.
My clients include companies specialising in the veterinary and animal nutrition sector, communication and marketing agencies, specialised translation agencies, and other linguistic professionals.
Some more information about me:
One side of my family is French and I was educated in a completely bilingual environment. I love learning new languages. I speak French fluently, I am continually perfecting my English, and I have a basic grasp of Portuguese.
I am passionate about animals, science in general, and languages in particular. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to combine these complementary interests in my work life, and I have no doubt that this reflected in my output: I love what I do.
I am highly inquisitive by nature and everybody says I am empathetic and have lots of patience. I will happily dwell on a given term or phrase until I find the most precise way to translate exactly what the author wanted to say in their text.
